Dear Pinewood Parents and Friends,

 

Welcome to the 2018-2019 School Year!  On behalf of the PTA, it is our pleasure to welcome you to another great year at Pinewood Elementary.  The PTA has planned a wonderful year full of programs and activities that will enrich and support our students in so many ways.  We also plan to have some fun along the way so we hope you’ll join us.  

 

Your membership is essential in helping our Parent Teacher Association sponsor the programming that is unique to our Pinewood community.  Your membership is comprised of two important elements: your contribution and your time. With your support we are able to…

 

• Create an online directory that includes an App for your phone

• Support after-school clubs such as Art Service Club, Garden Club, Drama Club, Lego Club, etc.

• Bring families together at Family Movie Night, Kindergarten Fire & Ice, Trick or Trot and Family Fun Night, Pastries with Parents and the Spring Carnival

• Design and publish our student yearbook 

• Thank our teachers with a generous Classroom Fund and Teacher Appreciation Week

• Inform families at our monthly PTA meetings, through our PTA website and Facebook page

 

This year our PTA is asking for a suggested donation of $65 per student.  This donation includes your 2018-19 PTA membership and your contribution to help make all of this and much more possible for our children.  With a PTA membership, your family will enjoy free admission or special pricing for all PTA events with a registration fee, a discounted yearbook, bi-monthly Shout Out e-mail, access to the online school directory, access to unlimited school-related resources, and the pride that comes in being a partner in our school community and in your child’s experience at Pinewood.

 

We are also asking for your expertise, your excitement and your support by volunteering for one of the many committees that make our PTA initiatives possible or by volunteering at one of our events.  These are great opportunities for your children to see your commitment to their school and to connect with other Pinewood families.

 

As Pinewood begins it 52ndyear, we look forward to working together to support our strong community and the continued pursuit of excellence in primary education.
